The Okawa Prize and Okawa Publications Prize Presentation Ceremony was held on March 1, 2023 at ANA InterContinental Tokyo.

The Okawa Prize

The 2022 Okawa Prize was awarded to Dr. Chieko Asakawa (IBM Fellow) and Dr. Shree K. Nayar (T. C. Chang Professor of Computer Science, Columbia University).

The Okawa Publications Prize

The 2022 Okawa Publications Prize was presented to "Robot: For Symbiotic Relationship with Humans" (authored by Dr. Michio Okada, published by University of Tokyo Press) and "Disaster Information and Social Psychology - Lessons from the Great East Japan Earthquake" (authored by Dr. Naoya Sekiya, published by University of Tokyo Press).

This year, the ceremony was expanded in scale compared to last year, and we were able to invite overseas recipients and their related parties to the ceremony. The ceremony was also graced by the attendance of the 2020 and 2021 overseas recipients, who had not been able to come to Japan last year.
